Rainbow Forum
The Rainbow Forum is a group of individuals that aim to provide a support netword to any LGBTQ (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans or individuals Questioning their sexuality) people within Herefordshire. We have monthly meetings, various outings and social events and are here to support anyone within our geographical area that has any concerns, questions or are simply looking for support with issues around sexuality.
Many of us feel as though living in a rural area means that we are less likely to find an LGBT support network, and whilst it is true that there are just over 7000 LGBT individuals throughout Herefordshire this does not mean that these support networks do not exist. Please feel free to contact us and become part of an equal group that is out to support the community in any way we can.
Autumn Rainbow
A new social and support network for older LGBT people in Herefordshire has been formed as a response to the difficulties facing older lesbians and gay men in the county.
Outside InOutside In is a youth led group for young LGBT people, as well as their friends and families. This group runs throughout Herefordshire but is based in Hereford City Centre.
They are currently developing a social network to provide information, advice and a supportive network for individuals in order to allow them to be who they are and who they would like to be, free of problems from predjudice and discrimination.
They are also developing a Schools Project because it is the belief that through education we can tackle the inequalities faced by LGBT individuals. Our aim is to inform students about a wide veriety of issues affecting LGBT individuals such as percieved stereotypes, homophobic bullying (as well as bullying in general), personal and family relationships and health.
Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or are interested in taking part in any aspect of the groups activities.
